My 2008 ZX14 Build
02/12/14 9:19 PM

Ok usually I say hello and not ask a question on why my 2008 wont start to find out it needed spark plugs.... sigh....

So hello!

This is my 2008 ZX14 Build up. I don't plan on going crazy on this bike. I just want a street rider that is fast and can go a distance at the same time. I doubt I ll turbo this one..... but you never know....

2008 ZX14 7000 miles Sapphire blue.

I brought it home a few months ago ( around Nov 2013 ).

I was quick to know it needed a better sounding exhaust. So I found a used Muzzy full exhaust for $180 shipped ( couldnt turn that deal down even though I had my eyes on M4 slip ons.)

I figured then I needed to add a PCV, so I found one and downloaded the map for my exhaust setup. The bike originally had a TRE with gear indicator on it already.

Got a double bubble black windscreen and a tinted black tail light, plus I bought some vinyl tint to do the turn signals and headlamps but haven't gotten to that yet.

I also bought a keyless gas cap, I hate having to take my key out at fill ups.

I bought a Shorai Lithium battery as well, almost 10 lbs of dead weight removed!

I also machined some swingarm extensions from 6061 aluminum I had laying around.6-8" over is good enough for me when I hit the track this summer. I also bought some lowering links, I was going to make a set, but found a used set for $20, so I couldn't touch my machine for that and bought them. I also bought a lowering strap for the front as well. Finally I bought new air filter for it and I'll change the oil before I leave on my first ride/big trip.

Oh yeah I bought a 16 front 43 rear sprocket and still have to get a chain as well. But that will be more this summer. I also laser engraved my fork caps ( someone put these on after they installed risers before me ).

I am hoping to add a Connie seat and atleast a backrest for my wife in a few weeks.

I sold two Busa's and my Vmax to buy a new machine in the shop, and the machine quickly made enough money for me to buy the ZX14. Here is my Turbo Busa I sadly sold, regret, but don't regret either.... LOL.

I also bought a keyless gas cap, I hate having to take my key out at fill ups.

The lock on the OEM sometimes gets corroded and sticks. Better off with a an aftermarket. Saves some weight too.

I sure wish I could make parts like you. That's gotta open up a lot of possibilities on the modding path.

Both bikes look great. To bad you had to let the busa go.

"Video does not exist"... Copy and paste just the www.dot.line again and post... Someone will help assist.

Type this in the reply box here at the forum. Type exactly as shown (with the squared brackets [] and the forward slash / ) except spell youtube correctly (i misspelled on purpose so the tags would be visible):

example:
[yootoob][/yootoob]

go to youtube video,

click EMBED

copy the all of the code that appears in the box

paste in between the tags you made like this:
[yootoob]<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/Tl82taKhYIM?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/Tl82taKhYIM?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>[/yootoob]

cut away everything in the code except what is bewteen the first quotation marks. The code you leave behind in the tags will always start with //www.youtube...and end with .....US

//www.youtube.com/v/Tl82taKhYIM?version=3&hl=en_US

paste between your tags like this:

[yootoob]//www.youtube.com/v/Tl82taKhYIM?version=3&hl=en_US[/yootoob]

done. hit REPLY.

remember to spell youtube correctly. If you do this it will NOT be visible which is why I mispelled it on purpose in the example above.

go ahead. Try to paste my code in the tags lil SUR-prize for ya.

It may take a few minutes before the video embeds here on the thread.

Ok lets try this. I don't think my laser videos have old embed option, thats why I can't post them this way.

Ok so that worked.... and you can see me toying my Turbo Bike a little. Full throttle resulted in tire spin being 12" over, it would spin never lift the front unless you out right totally tried to make it happen.

Let me try the laser videos again.

And thank you! That is what I was doing earlier, but the laser videos don't have the option to use old embed, probably because they were uploaded after they upgraded and don't have that option anymore?

This one shows the deep engraving. We mainly use this on firearms, that is what I do ( build custom handguns ) for a living. www.customizedcreationz.com

My Vmax vs Kaw! Hehhh... video fever now that I know how to post them haha!

I like to drag race alot. I just got back into racing bikes again ( for fun on the weekends only ) about two years ago with this Vmax. All stock bike save for the exhaust and I strapped the front down. Best 60 ft was 1.66 on a 11.02 pass at 123 mph. Not bad for a porky old 675 lbs bike ( without me on it ).
